Roskomnadzor plans to spend about 60 billion rubles on the modernization of technical means of countering threats (TSPU) under the federal project “Cyber Security Infrastructure”. This equipment, installed by Internet service providers, is used to block and slow down access to sites containing prohibited information. About this reports Forbes publication.
According to the law “On the Sovereign Internet”, TSPUs have been used in the networks of all Russian telecom operators since 2019. They filter all traffic by blocking or “slowing down” certain resources. Since providers do not have information about how TSPUs process traffic, they call this equipment “black boxes”.
Modernization of the existing TSPU and installation of new equipment is expected from 2025 to 2030. This is due to the development of networks and the increase in traffic volumes. The project also plans to create a unified platform for combating fraudsters and a system for blocking phishing sites.
For the modernization of TSPU, new equipment and software will be purchased, capabilities will be expanded by developing new signatures and updating existing ones. This will increase the throughput of TSPU to 725.6 Tbit/s and increase the efficiency level of restricting access to VPN blocking bypass tools to 96%.
Previously at the Ministry of Digital Development I promised Make Wi-Fi in all Russian schools.
