Sony has introduced the PS5 Pro, an improved version of its PlayStation 5 console, as part of a brief technical presentation. reported on the company’s blog.
PS5 Pro is a more powerful version of the current console that aims to run games in Performance mode. The new product is equipped with a more powerful graphics chip, advanced ray tracing support, and exclusive PSSR image scaling technology based on machine learning. These improvements allow you to achieve higher frame rates while maintaining high image detail.
Thanks to the new PS5 Pro hardware, the console’s GPU has 67% more compute units than the base version, and its memory is 28% faster. Overall, this results in a 45% faster gameplay experience, which promises a smoother gaming experience. According to Sony, performance in ray tracing modes has become three times faster, and they also promise that over 8.5 thousand games on PS4 and PS5 will run better on the Pro version.
Sony also noted that the PS5 Pro includes many other improvements, making it the most powerful console in the company’s history overall. Among other things, it has VRR and 8K support, Wi-Fi 7, and a removable disk drive, as in the PS5 Slim.
The 9-minute presentation featured a variety of videos showing off the improved performance of games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Beyond Worlds on the PS5 Pro and base console.
For the 2 TB version of the console, it will cost $ 700 (about 63.7 thousand rubles) or 800 euros (about 80.4 thousand rubles), depending on the market. The new product will go on sale on November 7, and pre-orders will be available on September 26.
