A hearing has been scheduled in the United States to cancel the unblocking of a number of Russian YouTube channels 09.09.2024, 21:37

The Federal Court for the Northern District of California will hold a hearing on December 6 on the petition of the American company Google to annul the decision of the Russian authorities to unblock the YouTube channels of ANO TV-Novosti, Tsargrad Media and the Orthodox Television Foundation. This is reported by RIA Novostireferring to the approved court schedule.

“The hearing on the request for preliminary intervention will be held on December 6 at 10 am (20:00 Moscow time),” the program states.

It is also clear from the schedule that the request for expedited review of the grounds must be submitted before September 10. The defendants will be given one week to respond. The plaintiff must submit amendments to the petition by September 20. The defendant must submit its position on the plaintiff’s request for preliminary intervention by October 31. The plaintiff has until November 21 to respond to this position.

Google August 20 filed Tsargrad has filed a lawsuit in a US court demanding that TV-Novosti and the Orthodox Television Foundation’s YouTube channels be blocked again. The companies are demanding the return of fines paid to Russian TV channels under a Moscow court ruling.
