Therefore, the August firmware update for the OnePlus 9 and 10 series smartphones could lead to serious hardware failures, especially damage to the motherboard. The issue affects the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, 9R, 9RT, 10, 10 Pro, and 10R models.
It is stated that the issue has not yet been officially confirmed by OnePlus representatives and all statements are based on user complaints. Therefore, OnePlus 9 and 10 smartphone owners are asked not to update their devices for now and wait for the company’s official comment.
In addition, users of OnePlus devices previously complained about overheating, poor performance and malfunctions of the motherboards on the flagship OnePlus 10 Pro 5G. Green bars also appeared on the screens of some older devices.
It seems the issues are also affecting older OnePlus smartphones as the OnePlus 13 is expected to be released in late 2024 or early next year.
