China achieved its clean energy production targets six years ago thanks to the commissioning of new wind generators and solar panels. This is evidenced by: data The country’s National Energy Administration.
The total capacity of wind and solar power plants in China is estimated to be 1,206 gigawatts. Just last July, 25 gigawatts of capacity was put into operation.
To date, around 14% of electricity produced in China comes from solar and wind power plants, but permits for the construction of coal-fired power plants are currently suspended.
On July 8, China plans to build a giant solar power plant with a total capacity of 8 gigawatts. The combined project will also include a 4 gigawatt wind farm and a 4 gigawatt coal power plant. They will be located in Ordos County in China’s Inner Mongolia region. The implementation cost is estimated at $11 billion.
