Media company Ziff Davis has blocked users in Russia and Belarus from accessing the IGN and How Long To Beat websites. This was reported by DTF.
Netizens noticed that since August 23, the IGN and How Long To Beat sites have become inaccessible from Russia. This means that when you follow links or enter their addresses, you get a 403 error, meaning access is denied. The How Long To Beat moderator soon confirmed on the forum that the decision was made by parent company Ziff Davis.
“We apologize for this inconvenience. Our parent company’s legal team forced the blocking of all traffic from Russia, Belarus, and several other countries. We have no say in the matter,” the moderator said.
It was not specified which countries, other than Russia and Belarus, were blocked. US media company Ziff Davis owns How Long To Beat, IGN, as well as the recently acquired Eurogamer, GamesIndutry.biz and Rock Paper Shotgun. Despite the restrictions on IGN and How Long To Beat, other Ziff Davis sites remain accessible for now.
IGN is the world’s largest video game publication. How Long To Beat is a platform that tracks the average time it takes to complete games.
Previously in Russia blocked Signal messenger.
