Mercedes-Benz is integrating the Boosteroid cloud gaming platform into the company’s MBUX multimedia system. The portal reports TechSpot.
As part of the partnership between Mercedes-Benz and the Boosteroid cloud service, cars equipped with the third-generation MBUX multimedia system will be able to access games from Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store in 2025. The service’s library currently includes more than a thousand games that can be played on computers, laptops, smartphones or smart TVs.
The innovation will be available as part of the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus and will allow vehicle owners to play popular games using the multimedia system screen as a monitor.
To run games, you only need an Internet connection, because the games will not be launched locally, but in the cloud. You can use a smartphone or a Bluetooth gamepad as a controller. It is noted that for security reasons, launching games will be possible only in park mode. In Russia, the service will most likely not work.
