St. Petersburg court to consider banning hate games in Russia 14:20

The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg accepted for consideration the administrative claim for the ban of the computer game Last Train Home on the territory of the Russian Federation. In this regard reports The combined press service of the courts of St. Petersburg.

The lawsuit alleges that the game undermines traditional values ​​of modern Russian society, gives children a distorted perception of information and gives virtual victims “the feeling that they are being ordered to commit brutal gaming acts” without mercy. It also says that the game contributes to inciting hatred and hostility towards the authorities of the Russian Federation and soldiers of the Red Army during the Civil War.

They are calling for the game to be banned in Russia via a link on Steam. It is unknown whether Last Train Home will be restricted in some way on other stores. The court accepted the claim and plans to evaluate the case to decide whether the game should be banned. The exact timing of the punishment has not yet been given.

Last Train Home is a real-time strategy video game developed by Ashborne Games and released in 2023. The game’s plot tells the story of a group of soldiers from the Czechoslovak Corps who end up in Russia during the Civil War. After the end of World War I, they travel to Europe via the Trans-Siberian Railway.
