The upcoming flagship iPhone 16 Pro will feature a tetraprism periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, previously only available on the 15 Pro Max. reports DigiTimes publication.
Taiwanese lens makers Largan and GSEO are ramping up production ahead of the launch of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, according to sources close to the supply chain. Rumor has it that the new iPhone 16 Pro will also receive an improved ultra-wide-angle module based on a 48-megapixel sensor, but the telephoto lens will retain a resolution of 12 megapixels. The smartphone also boasts the powerful Apple A18 chip and the appearance of a new Capture Button, which will be responsible for launching the camera and releasing its shutter.
The iPhone 16 series smartphones are expected to be introduced in the fall of 2024. All models in this series will also have access to the new Apple Intelligence AI system, which will go live in late 2024 or early 2025.
