The new version of Windows 11 will have a built-in x86 applications emulator 19:35

Microsoft announced the Prism emulator, which will allow you to run x86 applications on new computers with ARM processors. The technology will appear with the Windows 11 24H2 update, reports TechSpot portal.

According to the source, Prism became competitive with Apple’s Rosetta 2 emulator after the company abandoned its x86 processors in favor of proprietary M-series ARM chips.

The Windows 11 24H2 update will be optimized to run the operating system on ARM devices, specifically devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors. Microsoft hopes Prism will unlock the potential of new products and built-in neural processing units (NPUs). An important step for artificial intelligence tasks.

Microsoft notes that not all users will need Prism, as many popular applications already have Arm64-adapted or cross-platform versions. These applications include Office, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Microsoft products such as Adobe Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, Blender, and others. Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Chrome browsers also offer versions optimized for Arm architecture.

Previously reportedHe said that Samsung will not update more than 30 of its existing devices to Android 15.
