Two Tesla Cybertrucks, which were transported to Russia in violation of sanctions, were detained in Lithuania 19:12

Lithuanian customs authorities detained two copies of Tesla Cybertruck electric vehicles, which were allegedly illegally imported to Russia via Belarus. In this respect reports Electrek broadcast.

The cars were stopped at the Shalcininkai checkpoint on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border. The fate of the detained vehicles remains unclear.

The reason for the detention is related to existing sanctions that ban the supply of cars to Russia in quantities exceeding 50 thousand units. A similar restriction was introduced for Belarus by Poland, Latvia and Lithuania in March this year.

Tesla Cybertrucks are not officially sold in Europe, so these electric vehicles were most likely specially ordered from the USA. The Cybertruck is currently difficult to purchase, even in the US, where production is limited and delivery waits are around two months.

“Today’s incident highlights the problem of luxury car smuggling into Russia, which continues to exist despite international sanctions,” writes Electrek.

Previously in the EU started The court that must equate X (Twitter) with Apple under the DMA law.
