Musk: social network X will make various functions paid for new users 04/15/2024, 23:44

Elon Musk, his social network X plans to start charging each new user for the opportunity to create posts, bookmark, and like and comment on other posts. He wrote this in his article.

“Unfortunately, paying a small fee for new users to access records is the only way to stop the relentless onslaught of bots. Today’s AI (and troll farms) can easily pass bot testing,” Musk wrote in response to a post on X that talked about introducing a fee for new subscribers.

Musk later clarified that the feature would only be available to new users and that “they will be able to use the platform for free within three months.”

The first message from the X Daily News account, to which the creator of the social network responded, mentions an annual fee for new users to like, respond to comments of other users, add bookmarks and publish posts. This change is being made to reduce spam.

Musk did not specify a specific amount for new users. However, such a fee had already been applied to users in New Zealand and the Philippines since October last year. At that time, it was 1.43 New Zealand dollars and 42.51 Philippine pesos per year respectively, which was approximately equal to one US dollar.

X Corp. It is an American company founded by Elon Musk in 2023 to acquire Twitter Inc. and the company’s main product, the social network Twitter. This happened in April. A rebranding took place in July – the logo and name of the social network Twitter were replaced with an X.

Former American journalist statedThat Elon Musk periodically goes into “demon mode.”
