An abnormal decline in iPhone demand was recorded for the third consecutive month in China 03/27/2024, 19:55

In February 2024, iPhone shipments in China fell 33% year-on-year. In this respect reports MacRumors cited a new report from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

According to the report, foreign brands sold approximately 2.4 million smartphones in China in February 2024. Considering that Apple is the only foreign supplier with a significant market share, the company accounts for the vast majority of these shipments, according to MacRumors.

February marked the third month in a row that China recorded a decline in iPhone shipments. Apple shipped about 5.5 million devices to China in January; This represents a decrease of approximately 39% compared to the same period last year. The company faced a 30 percent year-on-year decline in December.

“Apple appears to face an uphill battle to reverse the decline in iPhone sales in China,” writes MacRumors.

Overall, iPhone shipments to China in 2023 decreased by 24%. According to analysts, this gap will continue to widen in 2024. The main way for Apple to draw attention to its products is through discounts. The company usually reduces the prices of its smartphones in honor of the Lunar New Year.
