Apple computers with M chips were vulnerable to hackers 12:03

Researchers have detected a new vulnerability called GoFetch in Apple M chips used in Mac computers. This vulnerability allows attackers to access cryptographic information stored in the processor cache and compromise encrypted data. reports ArsTechnica portal.

GoFetch poses a serious security risk because it bypasses a side-channel encryption algorithm designed to protect against attacks that exploit processor cache vulnerabilities. Moreover, it is not possible to fix this vulnerability at the hardware level. Currently the only solution is to develop a software patch, but it is unclear what impact this will have on device performance.

Experts strongly recommend that Mac (iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, MacBook) users be careful and install all available software updates to reduce the risk of possible attacks.

It was not stated whether GoFetch was threatening iPad tablet owners with Apple M chips.

Previously details revealed Apple’s discussions with Google and OpenAI regarding its use of artificial intelligence.
