New hacker group Mogilevich announced that Epic Games servers were hacked via the darknet and approximately 200 GB of internal data, including payment information and user passwords, were leaked. In this respect reports Cyber Diary portal.
According to the hackers, they managed to successfully hack Epic Games servers and gained access to 189 GB of internal data including payment information, emails, user passwords, source codes and more. No evidence has yet been provided regarding the attack. As a rule, hackers make part of the data publicly available to prove the fact of hacking and the existence of documents.
According to their statements, the stolen data was offered for sale. They also suggested that Epic Games pay a ransom before March 4 to prevent this data from passing into third hands. It wasn’t specified what would happen after the expiration date and how much the nearly 200GB of data would cost hackers.
Epic Games still has not made a statement about the incident and has not confirmed that its servers were hacked.
The Mogilevich hacker group is still little known on the Internet and was most likely founded quite recently.
