Chinese IT giant Huawei is preparing to introduce the new version of its mobile operating system HarmonyOS Next, which will not support Android applications. In this respect reports IT-Home publication.
To completely retire Android apps, Huawei needs to offer users a similar amount of alternative content. To create it, the vendor is actively attracting other Chinese IT companies such as NetEase, Meituan, ByteDance, DingTalk and others.
According to IT-Home, all of the listed organizations have already opened vacancies to find programmers who can develop software for the new Huawei operating system. Candidates are offered salaries above the market average.
Some companies are already preparing for the launch of HarmonyOS Next. For example, Tongcheng Travel stated that its application will receive native support for the new operating system by the end of 2023. The Tongcheng Trave version for HarmonyOS Next will get all the existing functions. So it will be possible to buy plane and train tickets, choose tours and book hotels.
