A man in the USA lost control of his car and flew about 122 meters out of the canyon. He was seriously injured and found himself in a remote place with no cellular coverage or Wi-Fi, but was saved thanks to an iPhone 14. informs MacRumors portal.
The victim was found thanks to the iPhone 14 with the functions “Collision Detection” and “Emergency Call – SOS via satellite”. Thanks to these innovations, the smartphone automatically detected the accident and sent a text message with location data to the emergency hub via satellite. So the local search and rescue team got information about the scene and were able to evacuate the man by helicopter.
According to the rescuers, if it weren’t for the iPhone 14, they would not have known where the victim was. They also added that if they didn’t find him in time, the man might have bled to death.
