In the fall of 2023, the Russian company STC IT ROSA will launch its first smartphone powered by its own mobile operating system (OS) Rosa Mobile. In this respect informs RBC edition, with reference to the words of Oleg Karpitsky, head of STC IT “ROSA”.
Production of the devices will be deployed at the Rutek factory in Zelenograd. According to Karpitsky, the line’s production capacity will be hundreds of thousands of devices per year. In addition, STC IT ROSA is also in talks with other electronics manufacturers – the company did not specify which ones.
The smartphone will cost 40 thousand rubles. According to Karpitsky, the first buyers of new products will be representatives of the public sector and corporate employees. Ordinary citizens are also seen among the end users of their smartphones in STC IT “ROSA”.
It is known that the first smartphone of the Russian company will run Rosa Mobile OS. Karpitsky also described this system as similar to Android and iOS. Rosa Mobile is based on Linux.
“When creating Rosa Mobile, we didn’t use Android components that were supposed to protect against possible disconnections and Google’s stealth functions, but we made it possible to run a number of Android apps on it,” said Karpitsky.
It is also known that Rosa Mobile will integrate its own app store RosaStore and RuStore.
