Amazon will cut another 9,000 jobs in the coming weeks to optimize costs. In this respect informs CNBC edition.
This is the second round of blackout after the first wave, which started in November 2022 and lasted until January 2022. As part of the first wave, the American IT company laid off more than 18,000 people.
New discounts will take place primarily in the departments responsible for the Amazon cloud platforms, Twitch service, advertising and human resources department.
“Amazon has made the decision to lay off more employees to optimize costs. The decision was made based on an analysis of the world economic situation and taking into account the uncertainty of the near future,” CNBC quotes Andy Jesse, the company’s CEO.
From Jesse’s words, it seems that in 2023, Amazon plans to shrink, but at the same time maintain the same efficiency.
