Russians warn of Telegram scammers selling iPhone at a discount at 11am

Fake channels have appeared on Telegram, offering to buy Apple gadgets at a discounted price. It was reported by the newspaper “News“.

Smartphones and other devices are sold on these channels several times cheaper than in stores. For example, the new iPhone 14 Pro 128 GB is on sale for only 19.9 thousand rubles, against 112.9 thousand rubles from a major retailer. The seller explains such a “generous” offer by the fact that these iPhones were seized at customs while they were trying to be smuggled into the country. The scammer shows reviews of people who have already used their services and purchased smartphones to make themselves liked.

Meanwhile, experts interviewed by Izvestia claim that the sale of the allegedly confiscated iPhone is an open fraud designed for those who want to save money on their purchase. In fact, the deceived buyer will either get a cheap fake for his money, or not get anything at all. One of the interlocutors of the publication noted that any good entrepreneur prepares all the documents in advance in order to avoid customs problems and possible confiscation of their goods, so the seizure of equipment occurs only in 5% of cases.
