The ChatGPT chatbot has learned to create viruses that target individual features of different operating systems and specific vulnerabilities. About this TASS said Roman Dremlyuga, Deputy Director of Development of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Technologies of the Far Eastern Federal University.
“Criminals are always too quick to adapt to technological innovations. In principle, when a new and effective tool appears, criminals try to adapt it and do it very quickly. You can already find examples of how this system generates malware code with the right characteristics for certain operating systems, certain tasks, and certain vulnerabilities, Dremlyuga said.
According to him, currently this feature of ChatGPT is mostly used by information security professionals for testing. But the expert is confident that attackers have long taken this opportunity into service. Now anyone without programming skills can produce viruses with the help of neural networks.
The use of ChatGPT can lead cybercriminals to create individual ways to get money from victims by focusing on the characteristics of a particular person, and do so automatically. Dremlyuga believes it is necessary to increase their awareness and overall digital literacy to protect gadget users.
Valery Falkov, Former Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation declarationYou should not penalize a student who writes a diploma using the ChatGPT neural network.
