According to him, in September, the number of phone fraud applications received by the organization was 13.8% of the total number of applications for various types of fraud. By mid-November, the activity of phone scammers was declining.
“We attribute this to the destruction of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, where, according to our data, a significant part of the aggressors who attacked the Russians,” Lazareva said.
He explained that scammers cannot carry out their activities without internet and telephone communication. But now the phone scammers have repositioned with the equipment, which explains the increase in the number of attacks since mid-November.
“The recession didn’t last long,” he continued. “Obviously, along with the equipment, the attackers’ cells were relocated, and the principle of “a holy place is never empty” worked,” Lazareva said.
