The owner of the social network Twitter, Elon Musk, announced the start of the sale of subscriptions with verification checkboxes – it will begin on Friday, December 2. The businessman wrote about it in his book. official account.
If previously all verification checkboxes were the standard blue color referring to the Twitter logo, now Musk plans to introduce additional colors to distinguish accounts from each other.
“Gold for companies, gray for government accounts, and blue for individuals, celebrity or not,” the billionaire said.
According to Musk, the account will be manually verified by Twitter experts before verifying it. “It’s tough but necessary,” the company’s new owner added.
Elon Musk bought Twitter in October 2022. Up until this point, the social network had been providing verification checkboxes for free at users’ request.
