Cybersecurity experts at Project Zero, a division of Google, have reported five dangerous vulnerabilities in popular smartphone models that were discovered over the summer but are still not patched. The relevant post was published on: official blog of the project.
It is known that one of the vulnerabilities can damage the kernel memory, leading to a complete failure of the smartphone. The second can open access to device memory addresses, and the other three allow you to make changes to physical pages of virtual memory. This means that a potential attacker can take full control of any Android device.
According to Project Zero experts, the security update by ARM was released this summer, but vendors such as Samsung, Oppo, and Xiaomi have not yet included it in their firmware, leaving users vulnerable to potential hacker attacks. There is no other way to protect their privacy among the owners of these smartphones yet.
