Burgos CF has so far collected six official wins, five in the league all at El Plantío and one in the Copa del Rey. The Copa del Rey success stands as the sole trophy earned at home so far this season.

Two matches in this campaign have featured teams from the Alicante province, and Burgos has already proven capable of overcoming both Elche and Hércules. In the upcoming fixture, the squad will confront its third opponent from terreta on home soil.
Just days earlier Burgos punched its ticket to the second round of the Copa del Rey by defeating Hércules at the José Rico Pérez stadium. The blue-whites had to dig deep to secure the win, underscoring the team’s resolve and competitive edge.
López-Pinto celebrated a goal against Hercules as Burgos secured the win in a display of collective effort and individual quality from their forwards.
In the end, Fer Niño and López-Pinto found the back of the net to clinch the victory for Burgos, reinforcing the perceived advantage Burgos had on the field. Despite the setback, Rubén Torrecilla’s squad showed character and fight throughout the match.
Defeat against Elche
A little more than a month ago, at the end of September, in the seventh league matchday, the clash between Burgos and Elche was considerably more straightforward for Burgos. With a single decisive moment, the team from Burgos managed to deliver a knockout blow to the visiting green-and-whites, who had been uncertain, especially with Martínez Valero absent that day.
Elche lost in Burgos by a wide margin, registering a 4-0 setback that highlighted Burgos’ form on that occasion. The match featured standout performances from Curro as the primary architect of victory, with Ojeda and Álex Bermejo contributing in the second half to seal the result and mark what many regarded as Burgos’ best showing of the season so far.
This coming Sunday at Nuevo Pepico Amat, Burgos will attempt to add a third Alicante club to its 2023/24 list of opponents. Eldense, for its part, faces the challenge of defending provincial pride against the visitors from Burgos, at least until the later rounds of the tournament unfold.
The only previous meeting between the two clubs occurred when Eldense faced the current Burgos squad, founded in 1994, and Burgos recorded a 1-0 win in last year’s Copa del Rey second round thanks to an own goal by Aitor Córdoba.
