Club’s fighter “Archangel Michael” Pavel Gordeev sought out Aljamain Sterling’s strengths before the fight against Russian Petr Yan, reports “Championship.com”.
“I think Sterling will be dangerous for the first two laps. No matter what anyone says, he has trump cards. He can take it back. He is a finisher. He finished the same Sandhagen in a minute,” Gordeev said.
The fight will take place on the night of April 10. Yan already faced Sterling in March 2021 and lost the championship belt to him due to disqualification. In the fourth round, he dealt an illegal blow to the American, as a result of which he suffered a defeat and was stripped of his title. Petr won the interim UFC title by beating American Corey Sandhagen by unanimous decision in October. The Russian takes the ninth place in the official UFC rankings among the best fighters, regardless of weight category.
