Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal issued a joint statement Tuesday in response to the “serious insult” allegedly directed at their clubs by Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

This backlash comes after ‘El Confidencial’ posted a WhatsApp exchange given to Rubiales and his father. In these messages, the federative leader ensures: His three favorite teams are “Villarreal, Sevilla and Sevilla, respectively. The three clubs allegedly belittled by Rubiales are urging the RFEF president to “correct and publicly apologize to the three institutions and their supporters”.
