Vicente Parras is once again in the lead role with his big work in Alcoyano. The El Collao team is a solid leader that only Eldense can hold onto. Aries is clear that you need to keep your feet on the ground.

16 points out of a possible 18, Alcoyano is currently the First RFEF’s disclosure team, surprised you too?

The truth is, we had a pre-season that was a bit uneven in terms of results. We use it to adapt, we have good physical tone… but really, we didn’t know what level it would demand of us until the competition started. We started well and expected good results, but the truth is we had an unimaginable start to the season.

Five wins and a draw…

It was also a very popular draw against the Barcelona B team, which will do important things this year. We’ve had victories in key areas away from home. It was a start that wasn’t even in the best dreams.

Do you see this as first-line anecdotal or is it a reflection of what they can do this year?

It’s too early for me to look at classification. Crews are still moving. It’s also true that we are only six days old. Around 12 or 15 we will begin to see where each of us might be. Also, there is always the January market factor. There are always clubs with a resource possibility, and then in February we recalibrate the possibilities for each.

Although we are the leader, it is not the time to look at the classification, if we continue in this line, we will set ourselves higher goals.

What is the secret of this Alcoyano?

In this case it’s a cliché but it’s true, there is a lot of work, we tried something in the summer, it didn’t work out, we had to make tactical changes, we did a lot of physical work in the pre-season and now it’s paying off. … The secret is that the team is physically very good and then we have to re-adjust and the truth is we did it, they did well and we got results, anything goes.

The leader with one of the lowest budgets in the category…

We do it every year. Be clear about the player profile we want first, and then be clear about the professional profile we want. Alcoy is a very special place and the public is very demanding because they have seen very good players. The first step is to be clear about the football player profile we always want. And then the way he plays. Beyond systems or game models, our fans demand intensity from us and spend 90 minutes fighting the game. We must choose well there and convey this idea well.

Is there much difference between this Alcoyano and last year?

Quite a few. We changed the entire front of the attack from right to left. Very important players left, Vega, Mourad, Jona in the middle of the season, Andy… We changed not only the names, but also the profiles. We chose the more dynamic Alcaina, Rubio and Raúl, and lighter midfielders like second-row Moyita.

The constant technical man…

You have to constantly renew yourself. I’ve been here for four years, and the four Alcoyans were different, but outwardly appreciated. In the end, what is the foundation, the fundamentals and the football you love is reflected in all teams.

It’s not easy to imagine an Alcoyano without Vines.

And a Vicente Parras not in Alcoy. It’s been tough for me, it’s been four years, we’ve done important things, people noticed that and there was an atmosphere in my club that I felt at home. I will always thank Elche for my progress and training, but my professional stride at Alcoy makes me feel like I’m in my own club.

With this start, permanence is already on its way.

Our feet are on the ground, the goal is to stay, but we caught that initial rush and got a third of the points needed last season. If we continue along a similar line, we will set ourselves higher goals. This is not the time to look at the rankings.

How do you dislike being a leader and the club talking about economic problems at the same time?

It is the most sensitive part. We all try to isolate ourselves. We’re meeting with the captains and we’re trying to explain the situation because it’s true that they kept me up to date and I tried to calm them down, that kind of thing happens in sports companies and we do our job.

It’s been tough to announce its renewal this summer due to debts to players, and it’s again pouring in worrying messages from the club…

The club is in a fragile economic situation, everything seems connected now, but I believe they will find a solution. I just want to talk about sports, but it’s a fact that we live there. We’re trying to isolate ourselves, but it’s not easy.

Do you see many more years in ElAlcoyano?

Currently I only see myself in Alcoyano. I already told Alcoy that I will not go as a springboard, I am very comfortable, they let me work, they know me… I can’t think of anything else. If something is coming from professional football… it’s another thing, we all want to improve but I’m at home in Alcoy right now.

Did the group surprise you?

It’s very equal, everyone started the competition by being very conservative and gradually everyone started to be where they should be. I see Eldense very strong, they are serious candidates for everything, they have formed a great staff. Castellón or Intercity will also be safe at the top with the resources to handle the situation.

Sunday at Cornellà…

It will be a tough match like everyone else in this category.
