As part of the AI Day 2022 presentation, Tesla introduced the promised humanoid robot Optimus. According to Elon Musk, this robot will be able to replace a person in some cases.

First, the company showed a robot without external panels, which itself went on stage, waved to the audience and danced. Musk noted that this is the first time the robot has moved on its own.

After that, the company showed a video demonstrating the capabilities of the Android. There, robots watered flowers, carried boxes, and so on. In addition, some of these machines are already doing routine work in Tesla factories, according to the developers.

In addition, they showed a robot with body parts. It was brought on stage because, according to Musk, the engineers simply didn’t have time to finish this model and she couldn’t move yet. At the same time, the company has big plans. The new robots would cost less than $20,000 and could perform a variety of tasks.
The Optimus weighs 73 kg and consumes 100 watts when sitting and 500 watts when walking. The battery capacity is about 2.3 kWh, enough for a day’s work. The robot moves at a speed of approximately 8 km/h and lifts objects weighing up to 20 kg. For communication, it has Wi-Fi and LTE modules.
The company also promised to release a “female” version of the robot. Russians can no longer update Windows
