Microsoft has lowered the level of DRM protection on Xbox Series X consoles. With firmware version 2206 or later installed on gaming systems, you can play games from Xbox One discs without an internet connection.
Note that the need for a permanent connection to install games from discs was the most criticized by users. But now this is no longer a problem for most projects. The only exceptions are those that require the mandatory download of additional material. Among the latter are Forza Horizon 5 and Hello infinite.
At the same time, Internet access is required to start projects with the original Xbox and Xbox 360. In this case, the discs only act as keys for checking the license, and the games themselves are downloaded and launched in backward compatibility mode from the company servers. It is important to note that purchased digital copies of games already downloaded to the console do not require internet access.
