Two Russian hockey players hit the list of favorites for the award for the best newcomer in the NHL

Authorized broadcast journalist athletic Scott Wheeler has included two Russians on its list of nominees for the Calder Trophy award to the best rookie of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season.

Among the 20 players, Russian hockey players Vitaly Kravtsov from the New York Rangers, who ranked 16th, and Kirill Marchenko of the Columbus Blue Jackets, took the 20th place.

According to the journalist, the top 3 contenders for the title of best newcomer include Owen Power (Buffalo Sabers), Matty Beniers (Seattle Kraken) and Mason McTavish (Winnipeg Jets).

Earlier it became known that Russian hockey players are not included in the rating of the best NHL defenders.

The first place in it was taken by Canadian Cale Makar from Colorado Avalanche. Second was Victor Hedman of Tampa Bay Lightning and third was Roman Yosi of Nashville Predators.

The best defenders list didn’t even include Tampa Bay Lightning’s highest paid NHL defender, Russian Mikhail Sergachev.
