Smorodskaya disagreed with Rudkovskaya on the popularity of Russian football

Former head of Lokomotiv Olga Smorodskaya did not agree with Yana Rudkovskaya, who said that figure skating has already surpassed Russian football in the ratings.

“Rudkovskaya is wishful thinking. Figure skating doesn’t catch up with football – it still has a long way to go to reach that popularity. International competitions went both there and there, ”Smorodskaya quotes Sports24.

Recall that the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Association of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to exclude all Russian clubs, as well as the Russian national team, from participating in all competitions controlled by these organizations.

Russian football players currently only play in local competitions: in the Russian Premier League (RPL) and in the renewed Russian Cup.

After 8 rounds in the RPL, Zenit St. Petersburg continues to lead. Sergey Semak’s team is three points ahead of CSKA and Krasnodar, who share the second place.

For the first time, media teams Amkal and 2DROTS were admitted to the Cup of Russia.

Formerly Tatyana Tarasova said figure skating would never go in the same direction as football.
