In the framework of the presidential elections of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), an extraordinary reporting and election conference will be held in Moscow on October 14. official site organizations.
The decision to hold the conference was taken by the RBU Executive Committee, which met on 7 September. In addition, the federation’s budget for the 2022/23 season was evaluated and approved.
The previous reporting and election conference was held on June 23, the current head of the RBU Viktor Maigurov and its vice-president Alexei Nuzhdov assumed the presidency of the organization. However, according to the election results, Maigurov did not receive two-thirds of the delegate votes required for the election. 35 voted for him, 18 voted for Nuzhdov.
It was decided that the second round of elections would be held at a later date, following the by-law amendment, so that a two-thirds majority would not be required for the election.
