World champion in beach football as part of the Russian national team, captain of Moscow Lokomotiv Boris Nikonorov announced in his social networks the suspension of his professional career.
“From today, September 1, 2022, in connection with the start of my training at the Russian International Olympic University, I have decided to suspend my professional sports career. I will not take part in the Russian Cup and Mundialito. The decision was taken by mutual agreement between me and the club management,” wrote Nikonorov.
In 2021, as part of the Russian national team, Nikonorov became the world champion and the owner of the Intercontinental Cup. He was named MVP in both tournaments.
At the 2021 World Cup at home, the Russian team won all the matches of the tournament and defeated the Japanese team in the final.
Nikonorov made his debut with the national team in the Euroleague in 2016, where he won the bronze medal with the national team.
As part of Lokomotiv, the striker twice became the champion of Russia.
It was previously reported that the general manager of the beach “Strogino” invited striker Artem Dziuba to his team.
