Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova reached the third round of the WTA-1000 series tournament held in Cincinnati, USA without a fight.
In the second round, the Russian athlete was supposed to meet with Romanian representative Simona Halep, but the tennis player decided to withdraw from the tournament due to a hip injury.
In the third round, Kudermetova will play with the winner of the match between Paula Badosa (Spain) and Ayla Tomlyanovic (Australia).
Kudermetova has won five WTA titles in her career and reached the Grand Slam Wimbledon final in 2021. She won the Billie Jean King Cup with the Russian team in 2021.
In the August 15 WTA ranking, the athlete is in the 20th place with 2161 points.
