ASUS has introduced an update to its line of ROG XG external graphics accelerators, now equipped with a Thunderbolt 5 port. This device is an excellent solution for users who are looking for a way to improve the performance of their mobile devices. The external graphics card will be available with the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5090 models and features impressive specifications and new capabilities.
The main improvement is the use of the Thunderbolt 5 port, which increases throughput to 80 Gbps, significantly exceeding the limitations of previous standards. This major improvement will unlock the full potential of the next generation of high-performance graphics cards, delivering significantly higher performance than their predecessors.
The new XG Mobile is a compact external accelerator weighing only 1 kg, equipped with an updated cooling system with evaporation chamber and dust filter. This improvement increases the cooling surface area by 54%, which helps reduce device temperatures under high loads. Importantly, the noise level is 3 dB lower than the previous model with RTX 4090.

To ensure stable operation, ASUS has equipped the device with a built-in 350 W power supply, which not only provides enough power for mobile video cards, but also allows you to charge connected laptops. There are also extensive ports: Ethernet 5G, USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1 and an SD card slot.
A new device with an RTX 5070 Ti starts at $1,999, while a model with the flagship RTX 5090 will likely cost significantly more. The device is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025.
