Russian Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin admitted that he did not care when Portuguese Benfica’s Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoly Trubin refused to shake his hand while playing Dota 2 live on Twitch.
“Overall, I don’t care about yesterday’s situation. Believe me, I don’t care. It’s not interesting at all. Forget it,” Golovin said.
The incident occurred before the 5th round match of the Champions League group stage between the two teams. During the traditional pre-match greeting, Trubin did not shake Golovin’s hand and walked past him. The Russian player looked at his opponent in surprise.
The match ended with Benfica winning with a score of 3:2. Golovin made an assist.
After five matches, Monaco was in eighth place with ten points, while Benfica was in 14th place with nine points. In the next Champions League match, Monaco will play away against London’s Arsenal and Benfica will play against Italian Bologna.
Previously father of Ukrainian goalkeeper I promised “Slap” my son for refusing to shake Golovin’s hand.
