Sony is working on its own portable console, Bloomberg reports. According to the publication, the device allows you to run games for the PlayStation 5.
Development is in the early stages, so the release will take place in a few years. By releasing a portable console, Sony will try to compete with Nintendo and Microsoft, who also have a similar device in the works.
Bloomberg noted that the PlayStation Portal cloud console, which lets you stream games from your PS5 to a small screen, was also originally conceived as a full-fledged standalone device like a Steam Deck. Apparently the console wasn’t powerful enough at the time.
As for the Nintendo Switch, the most important modern portable device, more than 146 million units have already been sold. The next generation is expected in 2025.
