Goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain and the Russian national team, Matvey Safonov, helped his team win the match against Toulouse in the 12th round of the French championship.
The meeting took place in Paris at the Parc des Princes stadium and ended with a confident victory of the hosts with a score of 3:0. João Neves, Lucas Beraldo and Vitinha scored among the winners. Matvey Safonov played a full match in the starting lineup. For the 25-year-old Russian, this was the third match in which he managed to keep his goal intact in the French team.
After this victory, the capital club scored 32 points and maintained its six-point lead over Monaco, which beat Brest (3:2) in Friday’s match.
PSG bought Safonov from Krasnodar for 20 million euros in the off-season and his contract with the French champions runs until the end of the 2028/29 season. This season, before this match, Safonov had played five times for PSG, once in the Champions League and four times in Ligue 1.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper receives call-ups to the Russian national team. He won the silver medal in the national championship with Krasnodar last season.
