Zagitova became an Olympic champion in 2018. In addition to the gold at the Games, the athlete has gold medals at the 2019 World Championships and gold and silver medals at the 2018 and 2019 European Championships. Zagitova is the only solo figure skating athlete in Russian history and the second skater in world history after Kim Yong Ah to win all world figure skating championships. He put his career on hold in 2019 and has not appeared on the ice in official competitions since then.
