He suggested freezing the scores of Russian skaters and not playing titles in international tournaments. “He is absolutely right. If we talk about figure skating, our athletes are among the strongest in the world. And no rating, no matter where they are compiled, wherever they are held, no international competition can be completed without the participation of our athletes. Recall that the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competition. ISU announced this decision with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This decision was approved at the ISU congress in early June. It is of uncertain nature.
Russian skaters completed the international season ahead of schedule. They failed to compete at the World Championships in Montpellier. Anna Shcherbakova and dance couple Victoria Sinitsina / Nikita Katsalapov resigned as reigning champions.
