Famous players of both teams will also take the field between the teams. For example, Alexander Filimonov, Dmitry Alenichev, Egor Titov, Denis Glushakov, Alexander Mostovoy, Roman Pavlyuchenko and others will play for Spartak. The coach of the red-whites will be Oleg Romantsev.
Vladimir Gabulov, Yuri Zhirkov, Alexey Smertin, Denis Kolodin, Andrey Karyaka and others will play for Dynamo. This team will be led by famous experts Valery Gazzaev and Yuri Semin.
The meeting will take place on November 13 at Spartak’s home stadium, Lukoil Arena.
Cherenkov was born on July 25, 1959 in Moscow. He played 15 seasons at Spartak between 1978 and 1993, breaking the club record for the number of matches played (515 matches). As a member of the red and white team, he won the USSR Championship, Russian Championship and Russian Cup three times.
As a member of the USSR national team, Cherenkov played 34 matches and scored 12 goals, winning a bronze medal at the 1980 Olympic Games.
Cherenkov passed away on October 4, 2014, at the age of 55. A year later, a monument to him was unveiled at the Spartak stadium and the South Stand was named after him.
This year Cherenov would have turned 65.
