The International Boxing Federation (IBF) insists that Artur Beterbiev defend his title against a mandatory challenger. If the fight takes place, the Russian’s opponent will be German Michael Eifert. This was reported by “Soviet sport” Referring to journalist Keith Idek.
The IBF’s response demanding a fight reportedly came the day after representatives of Dmitry Bivol, who lost to Beterbiev, applied for a rematch for the title of absolute world champion.
On the night of October 13, Beterbiev defeated his compatriot Dmitry Bivol and became the absolute world light heavyweight champion. The fight lasted 12 rounds and ended with the score on the judges’ cards – 114:114, 115:113, 116:112. For Bivol, this defeat was the first in his professional career.
Beterbiev became the first undisputed light heavyweight champion since 2003. He did not lose a single fight in the professional ring. The boxer has 21 victories.
In his career, Eifert had 14 fights and won 13 (five by knockout).
Formerly in the State Duma I appreciated the performances Beterbiev under the Canadian flag.
