Tampa Bay Lightning’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov scored a hat-trick in the last ten minutes of the match against the Carolina Hurricanes in the first game of the 2024/25 regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL).
According to Sport24, before this, only two players in NHL history had done this in the first game of the season: Babe Dye (1922) and Bert Corbu (1919).
The match ended with Tampa winning 4:1. Victor Hedman scored another goal for Yıldırım and Kucherov assisted this goal. Jordan Staal scored Carolina’s only goal.
The teams will play each other in the next match. However, the game on October 13 will be played at Amalie Arena in Tampa. The starting siren will sound at 02:00 Moscow time.
