According to recent reports, NVIDIA plans to unveil its new GeForce RTX 50 series graphics accelerators at CES 2025 in January. Three models are expected to be showcased at the event: the RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070, all of which promise impressive performance.
The top model, the RTX 5090, will feature 21,760 CUDA cores and 32 GB of GDDR7 video memory on a 512-bit bus, delivering an incredible bandwidth of up to 1,792 GB/s. The peak power consumption of the new product will reach 600 W.
The RTX 5080 will be a more affordable option, with 10,752 CUDA cores and 16 GB of VRAM on a 256-bit bus. The power consumption of this card is expected to be 400W, which makes it consume less energy compared to the flagship.
Rumor has it that the most budget version, the RTX 5070, is equipped with 12 GB GDDR7 and a 192-bit bus. The throughput of this card is 672 GB/s and the power consumption is about 250 W. Insiders note that the new architecture will improve signal quality and improve the performance of GDDR7 memory.
If you believe that insider sources are Moore’s Law Is Dead, then for the top-end GeForce RTX 5090 you will have to pay $1999 – $2499 (about 194,000 – 242,000 rubles), the simpler GeForce RTX 5080 will cost $1199 – $1499 dollars (about 116,000 – 145,000 rubles), and the RTX 5070 should be released with a price tag of $599 – $699 (about 58,000-68,000 rubles).
