“My children remained in Russia”: Former Zenit legionnaire misses the Russian Federation

Old Zenit St. Petersburg football player Christian Noboa said he missed Russia “Championship”.

“Of course I miss Russia. I miss you very much. I miss my children. They stayed in Russia with their mother. They have a school there. I miss them very much,” Noboa said.

Noboa has been playing in Russia since 2007. As part of Rubin Kazan, the midfielder played 159 matches, twice became the champion of Russia and once won the country’s Super Cup. Noboa played 92 matches for Dynamo Moscow and then moved to Rostov (64 matches), where he became the silver medalist of the championship. The player joined Zenit St. Petersburg in 2017. He moved to St. Petersburg (22) and again became the champion of Russia.

The midfielder has played in Sochi since 2019 (116). Noboa was named the best RPL player of the 2021/22 season according to the Russian Football Union (RFU).

Noboa currently plays for Ecuadorian club Emelec.
