WADA Chairman Bank says RUSADA will soon hold hearings on Valieva case

The head of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Vitold Banka said that the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) will soon hold a hearing on the case of figure skater Kamila Valieva.

Recall that Valieva won the gold of the Olympics in the team tournament as part of the national team. Immediately after this, information emerged that the Russian woman’s doping test on December 25, 2021 was positive.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) allowed the Russian woman to participate in the personal tournament of the Olympic Games. As a result, Valieva took the fourth place, which could not cope with the excitement in the free program.

“Sometimes the processes take a little longer due to technical details. We are following the situation very closely. We expect RUSADA to hold hearings soon. I think they will soon.

If we are not satisfied, we can always use the opportunity to apply directly to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

This month, RUSADA requested documents and materials so as not to cease its activities. They are watching and as far as I know they plan to hold hearings in the near future. We’ll be watching this,” Bank quotes Inside the Games.

Formerly Kamila Valieva saidWhether his former coaches were offended when he decided to move to Eteri Tutberidze.

Before joining Khrustalny in 2018, the athlete studied for three years at the Moskvich school with Natalia Dubinskaya and Stanislav Kovalev.
