YouTube is introducing a new tool called Hype to help lesser-known content creators gain exposure and growth opportunities. Hype not only allows viewers to share the videos they love, but also helps develop new creators. Unlike the traditional Trending section, which focuses on the popularity of videos, Hype focuses on promoting smaller channels based on user recommendations.
The Hype feature includes a new button that allows users to “hype” videos. This can help smaller channels break through and get more views. Videos can only be “promoted” within seven days of publication if the channel has less than 500,000 subscribers. Each user is allowed to press the “promote” button three times per week, and the number of points that can be earned depends on the number of subscribers on the channel.
In addition, YouTube plans to personalize the Hype section for each user and add additional filters and ratings by topic. This will make it easier for viewers to find interesting content and for creators to get additional support from their fans.
YouTube also announced several new features that will be available late this year or early next year. The first of these is the Inspiration feature coming to YouTube Studio. This tool is designed to help content creators by offering video concepts, title and thumbnail generation, and the preparation of text descriptions. Inspiration has already been tested with a limited number of users and will be useful for both brainstorming and creating full-fledged projects.
In addition, YouTube will integrate Veo’s powerful neural network into the Shorts editor, allowing users to generate realistic videos. Videos created with Veo will be tagged accordingly. Plans also include introducing an automatic video dubbing feature to dub videos into different languages and expanding AI tools for subscriber interaction in the Communities section.
These updates are designed to support the growth of new content creators and improve the interaction between creators and viewers on the platform.
