Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a telephone conversation with boxer Oleksandr Usyk, who was detained at Krakow airport. The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel.
“I am outraged by this attitude towards our citizen and champion. “I instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko to immediately sort out all the details of the incident at the Krakow airport,” Zelensky wrote.
The President of Ukraine added that he had already been informed that the situation with the athlete had been resolved. According to the President, Usik had already been released.
About the boxer being detained on September 17 reported Ukrainian media. The causes and circumstances of the incident are not yet known.
