Makar Ignatov explained the reasons for his good performance in test skating 17:50

Russian Championship medalist figure skater Makar Ignatov suggested his good performance in the free program at the test skates was down to luck “Championship”.

“Maybe it’s an accident. In figure skating, a lot depends on luck and circumstances. I think the results should be given at longer distances,” Ignatov said.

Ignatov is the silver medalist of the Russian Championship (2021), the bronze medalist of the Rostelecom Cup Grand Prix stage (2019), two-time winner of the Russian Cup Final (2020, 2022). On August 17, the athlete married figure skater Alexandra Trusova.

Trusova won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing, losing to compatriot Shcherbakova. Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto finished in the top three. Before the awards ceremony, Trusova refused to go to the ceremony and emotionally stated that she would never go on the ice again.

Previously Natalia Bestemyanova evaluated the hopes Trusova’s return to the ice after a possible pregnancy.
